In April 1147, as the Almohad forces breached the outer walls of Marrakech, the Almoravid Empire stood on the precipice of total collapse. While the imperial court crumbled around her, Princess Fannu bint Umar ibn Yintan refused to yield. Disguising herself in combat armor and taking up arms alongside the royal guard, she held the line at the Kasbah fortress, becoming the final commanding figure to defend the citadel.
Her fierce resolve and mastery of the bow held back the advancing army for days. Historical accounts record that the Almohad forces were astounded by her extraordinary bravery on the front lines—only discovering upon her fall in battle that the formidable warrior who had held their army at bay was a princess of the realm.
This project brings Princess Fannu's legacy into three dimensions, translating Dennis David's striking concept art into a fully realized digital character asset.
